The Z Fold 8 Wide — a rumored larger variant of Samsung’s flagship book-style foldable — appears to feature a substantially expanded inner display compared to its predecessor, based on the leaked schematics.
What the Leaks Show
Side-by-side comparisons in the leaked renders suggest the device’s unfolded screen could rival entry-level Android tablets in usable surface area, though Samsung has not confirmed any specifications.
The outer cover display also appears wider in proportion, which would make one-handed use more practical when the device is folded shut.
That said, no verified display measurements have been independently confirmed by a Tier-1 source at this stage, and the renders originate from the supply chain leak community rather than official filings.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 Also Surfaces
Leak imagery for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 — Samsung’s clamshell-style foldable — also appeared alongside the Fold 8 Wide materials, suggesting both devices are progressing through development on a parallel timeline.
The Flip 8 renders show a form factor broadly consistent with the current Z Flip 6, with no dramatic departure from the existing design language visible in the images.
Still, cover screen size and hinge refinements remain areas where Samsung has historically iterated between generations.
Samsung’s Foldable Push
Samsung held roughly 50% of the global foldable smartphone market in 2023, according to IDC, though that share faces mounting pressure from Chinese rivals including Huawei, Honor, and OnePlus.
A larger Fold variant would position Samsung directly against devices like the Huawei Mate XT, which targets users who want foldable hardware that doubles as a productivity tool.
