Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE — the company’s entry-level flip-style foldable phone — has dropped to its lowest U.S. price since launching commercially nearly a year ago, according to a new deal listed on Woot.
The discount marks the first time the device has reached a price point that brings it within range of mainstream smartphone buyers considering a foldable for the first time.
What the Deal Offers
Woot, the Amazon-owned daily deals site, listed the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE at a reduced price that undercuts Samsung’s own storefront and major carrier retail pricing.
The Z Flip 7 FE sits at the lower end of Samsung’s foldable lineup, targeting buyers who want the clamshell form factor — a phone that folds in half vertically — without paying flagship prices for the standard Z Flip 7 or the larger Z Fold series.
Why It Matters Now
Foldable phones remain a niche segment. IDC reported that foldables accounted for roughly 1% of total global smartphone shipments in 2024, with high retail prices cited as the primary barrier to broader adoption.
Samsung holds the largest share of the global foldable market. Still, even its “affordable” foldable option drew criticism at launch for carrying a price that left little separation from more capable flagship alternatives.
That gap narrowed sharply with this Woot listing.
The Z Flip 7 FE in Context
Samsung introduced the FE — short for Fan Edition — sub-brand as a way to deliver core experiences at reduced cost, a strategy it previously applied to the Galaxy S series with models like the Galaxy S23 FE.
The Z Flip 7 FE runs Samsung’s One UI software on top of Android and retains the compact folding design that defines the Z Flip line, though it trades some premium internal components to hit a lower price at launch.
Even so, the trade-offs that made the original retail price feel steep become easier to accept at a steeper discount.
Woot deals typically run for a limited window or until stock sells out, and the site sells devices in used, refurbished, or new conditions — buyers should confirm the listing condition before purchasing.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE in the United States as part of its mid-2024 foldable refresh, positioning it as the on-ramp to its foldable ecosystem for cost-conscious consumers.
