Amazon Cuts iPad Pro M5 Price by $100 in Limited Deal

Amazon dropped the price of Apple’s 11-inch iPad Pro with the M5 chip by $100, giving buyers a rare discount on Apple’s top-tier tablet.

The deal applies to the current-generation iPad Pro, which runs on Apple’s M5 processor — the same chip family used in the company’s MacBook Pro lineup — and features an 11-inch Tandem OLED display.

Tandem OLED stacks two OLED panels to double brightness without sacrificing battery life, a design Apple introduced to the iPad Pro line in 2024.

What the hardware offers

The M5 chip gives the iPad Pro processing power that competes with desktop-class machines. Apple positions the device as a laptop replacement, and at full price it starts at $999 for the base 11-inch configuration, according to Apple's official pricing page.

The $100 discount brings the entry price to $899, a meaningful reduction on a product Apple rarely discounts through its own channels.

Why the price matters

Apple controls its retail pricing tightly, making third-party discounts on current-generation hardware uncommon. Amazon’s markdown puts the iPad Pro within reach of buyers who had held off at full price.

The device supports Apple Pencil Pro and the Magic Keyboard, accessories sold separately that expand its use as a productivity tool. Neither is included in the base price.

Storage starts at 256GB on the 11-inch model. Buyers who need more capacity pay significantly more — the 2TB configuration lists at $1,999 before any discount.

Market context

Tablet sales have faced pressure globally. IDC reported that worldwide tablet shipments fell 0.5% year-over-year in the third quarter of 2024, with premium segments holding steadier than entry-level devices.

Apple held the top position in global tablet Market Share during that period, according to the same IDC data.

The iPad Pro sits at the top of Apple’s four-model iPad lineup, above the standard iPad, iPad mini, and iPad Air. The Air uses an M3 chip and an LCD display, while the Pro’s Tandem OLED panel delivers higher peak brightness and better contrast ratios.

Deals on current-generation iPad Pros have historically disappeared within days. Amazon has not announced an end date for this discount.
