The Samsung Galaxy M56 beats the Moto G37 Power on display quality, processing speed, and camera performance, but Motorola’s handset costs roughly $50 less and packs a significantly larger battery.
Display and Build
Samsung equips the M56 with a 6.74-inch Super AMOLED+ panel running at 120Hz with a 1080×2340 resolution. The Moto G37 Power uses a 6.67-inch IPS LCD at the same refresh rate but at a lower 720×1604 resolution, a gap that produces noticeably softer text and less contrast.
On durability, Motorola holds an edge. The G37 Power carries an IP64 water-resistance rating and MIL-STD-810H certification — a U.S. military standard for resistance to drops, dust, and temperature extremes. The M56 uses Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both faces but carries no equivalent ruggedness certification.
Performance and Software
Samsung’s Exynos 1480 chip, paired with UFS 3.1 storage — a faster flash memory standard — gives the M56 a clear performance advantage over the G37 Power’s MediaTek Dimensity 6300 or 6400, which run on the slower UFS 2.2 format.
Samsung also commits to six major Android updates for the M56, which currently ships with Android 15. The G37 Power ships with Android 16 but comes with no stated update guarantee from Motorola.
The G37 Power includes a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The M56 does not.
Camera
Both phones carry a 50MP primary rear sensor, but Samsung adds optical image stabilization — a hardware mechanism that reduces blur from hand movement — along with an 8MP ultrawide lens and 4K video recording. Motorola offers none of those on the G37 Power.
The M56 also uses a 12MP front camera against Motorola’s 8MP unit.
Battery and Charging
Motorola’s 7,000mAh battery is the G37 Power’s clearest advantage. Samsung’s 5,000mAh cell is a common capacity at this price tier and typically delivers a full day of use for moderate users.
That said, the M56 charges at 45W versus the G37 Power’s 30W, meaning Samsung recovers power faster despite starting from a lower capacity.
The G37 Power also supports 6W reverse wired charging, allowing it to top up other devices. The M56 does not.
Audio and Connectivity
Motorola includes stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Samsung ships the M56 with a single speaker and no headphone port.
On wireless connectivity, the M56 supports Wi-Fi 6 while the G37 Power is limited to Wi-Fi 5. Motorola includes NFC — a short-range wireless standard used for contactless payments — though availability varies by region. Samsung omits NFC on the M56.
